As the owner and sole practitioner of The Shultz Law Firm, Prof LLC, in Rapid City, South Dakota, attorney Jay Shultz maintains a broad civil trial practice, focusing primarily on personal injury litigation, whistleblower protection involving Medicaid and Medicare fraud and business litigation. Mr. Shultz has represented personal injury victims, health care providers and businesses in all types of general and commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts. He has also practiced extensively in Indian Country, representing the Oglala Sioux Tribe of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in tribal court with their legal matters involving gaming issues, telecommunications, Indian water law, banking and more.

Mr. Shultz began his legal career in 1983 after obtaining his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School and his license to practice from the State Bar of South Dakota. Since that time, he has recovered millions of dollars in compensation, benefits and restitution on behalf of his clients, earning him a membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Along with practicing before all South Dakota state courts, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the South Dakota Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota, the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th, 10th and Federal Circuits, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the Oglala Sioux Tribal Court, the Oglala Sioux Nation Supreme Court, and the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Court.

Dedicated to his practice, Mr. Shultz is active in many professional legal organizations, including serving on a number of committees for the State Bar of South Dakota. He is a member of the Pennington County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, among several others.

Devoted to his community, he is the former president of Feeding South Dakota and once served on its board of directors. He is also actively involved in his church, his local YMCA and American Red Cross chapters, and several music arts organizations
